Ship Card (visiting Island K-72)
~ On your island tour of Anguilla while sailing onboard the ss Magellan you visit Fountain Cave where Arawak petroglyphs are carved into the stalagmites and stalactites. Later in the day, while visiting The Valley, you make a find of commemorative stamps with illustrations of these carvings ~ “Jocahu”, “Cap Juluca”, “Solar Chieftain” and ”Lizard” ~ celebrating the spirituality and creativity of these original Amerindian settlers. At least two archaeological sites on Anguilla confirm that the island was first occupied by indigenous peoples as early as 1500 B.C. ~
