Island Card (visiting Island N-102)
~ During your visit to the Spice Island of Grenada whilst aboard ss Neptune, you delight in the lush landscapes and natural beauties of the island, also the aroma of fresh spices in the air. All around you is evidence of the spice trade; on the inland road nutmegs are being sorted and cacao pods dry in the sun; bay rum leaves, lemon grass, cinnamon and cloves are used locally for alternative medicine while the distilled essential oils of spices are exported for use in the perfume and pharmaceutical industries. In the kitchen, for a variety of wonderful flavors, try allspice, ginger, pimento, vanilla and tumeric. ~
