~ When ss Magellan docks in Grenada you wander through the picturesque town of St.George’s and its colorful waterfront district of the Careenage, which was built around the crater of an extinct volcano. The other half of St.George’s is the Esplanade and Market Square where the produce, fish, and straw markets sell their wares. This lush island has an abundance of fresh fruit ~ mangos, bananas, grapefruit, passion fruit, pineapples and papayas, as well as vegetables ~ breadfruit, calaloo, okra, pumpkin, dasheen and Christophene. ~
