Including America’s Intervention in 1983, Grenada has lived a turbulent history. Firstly, with French

forces fighting the Carib Indians for possession, ending, in 1652, with some of the last of the Kalinago (Carib Indian) men throwing their women and children off a northern precipice (Morne des Sauteurs) and then following them to their death on the rocks below. This was followed by battles between the British and the French for control of the island which was assumed by the British at the Treaty of Versailles in 1783. ~ Ship Card <lose Island N-102 from your scorecard>
